The course is “a theological study of (i) the nature, power and government of the Church, and the means of grace in the Church (the word of God, prayer, fellowship, the sacraments/ordinances),(ii) the future hope of God's people as they await the prophesied 'Last Things’, and {iii} interface with African world views in relation to ecclesiology and eschatology. Under these two subjects, the following topics are covered: metaphors for the Church in the New Testament, the attributes and marks of the Church; the power of the Church to preach the gospel and to exercise church discipline; the qualifications and duties of church officers; death, the intermediate state and glorification; the return of Christ and the millennium; death, resurrection the Final Judgment, heaven and hell.
